Server Maintenance

The House Elves have constructed wards around FictionAlley to allow them to perform server maintenance. We appreciate your patience while they work and will restore access to all FictionAlley sites (including FictionAlley Park and Schnoogle.com) as soon as we can.

  6. You couldn't, you know, give us a bit of an advance warning somewhere? I spent half this morning wondering whether the recession had got you and whether we would next see FA on the breadlines, with a sign saying "will fic for food"! Let us hope this is less chaotic than the Bad Event two years ago. And good luck with the new whatever.

  7. i have to agree with fpb! For a moment this morning, I really was near tears thinking that your entire site had been through a complete meltdown because of some vicious virus or something... been ckecking all day and am now glad I had another look. Truly happy there's an explanation!!! Thanks for letting us know!!! and sure hope to see it back up soon!!!

  8. Thanks for the announcement. But I agree with some of the others that a timeline would be nice. How long are we talking about to get the site back up? Just an estimate even.

  9. Thanks for the belated warning, it left just enough time for panic to set in.

But really, thanks for letting us know that there wasn't anything major happening to the site. The backlash to a major crash would have been killer. I'd hate to be one of the authors from the site, this would have scared the crap out of me.

  12. The thing is, the techs thought it would be a really quick thing, but due to unforeseen glitches and incompatibilities with old vs. new systems, it's taking much longer. As soon as they saw it was taking longer, they put up the redirect page. We're all as anxious as you to have everything back and working!
