FictionAlley is moving in with An Archive Of Our Own

FictionAlley art and fic and essays are being imported to the Archive of Our Own (AO3) (although the FictionAlley Park forums will remain here in some form). In this post:

• What this means for creators who have work on FictionAlley
• And what to do if you still have questions

Backstory

In JKR's Wizarding World, one comes of age at 17; as FictionAlley reaches its 17th year this week, it's time for the fic and art to move to a larger database - the Archive Of Our Own. Forums/Park posts, blogposts, tutorials and pre-2006 essays will stay at FictionAlley.org.
Open Doors will be working with FictionAlley team to import FictionAlley into a separate, searchable collection on the Archive of Our Own. As part of preserving the archive in its entirety, all fanfiction, fanart and HPInkPot essays currently on FictionAlley will be hosted on the OTW's servers, and embedded in their own AO3 work pages. Eventually, redirects will be set up from the original archive to the AO3 collection.

We will begin importing works from FictionAlley to the AO3 after August.

Harry Potter Fandom Excitement at SDCC 2018

FictionAlley's Heidi will again be hosting the Harry Potter fandom panel - but this year, it's on Thursday night at 8:15 pm in Room 6DE.We'll be making some FictionAlley announcements and discussing all the magic in and around the Harry Potter/Wizarding World fandom (and canon!) with panelists including journalists Elizabeth Minkel (Fansplaining) and Catherine Horvath (MuggleNet), event organizer Chandrika Moka (Wands Up San Diego), sportsters Dawn Biggs (Hogwarts Running Club) and Jessica Ward (US Quidditch), and creative fans like Eliyannah Amirah Yisrael (Hermione Granger & the Quarter Life Crisis), novelist Alexa DeGennaro (Brightly Burning), podcast play producer Mick Ignis (The Great Wizarding War Podcast), podcaster Gary Roby (HarryPotterMinute), playwright Matt Cox (Puffs; Or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic).
You can also catch some wizarding magic at WB's Cinema Panel in Hall H on Saturday morning -- we expect Fantastic Beasts cast members to be there -- and at Melissa Anelli's panel on 20 years of Harry Potter on the printed page, on Saturday afternoon.
